Twenty-four minutes of dicta-jaxx and vocal humps.
Like some tubby Mike Oldfield I’m playing all the instruments: dictaphones, voice, tapes, sampler, plastic sax, guitar, field recordings, melodica and dusty sheng.
Readings are by me or Malory Maki or Dulcie Goldsbury Murray. Text is by me except ‘the review’ which was originally in The Guardian or The Wire. Sorry, I can’t find the reference. The last minute or two of this piece is an augmented recording of the marvellous Shunyata Improvisation Group caught on tape as they hazily soundcheck.
Recorded in and around Newcastle in the summer of 2022. Physical copies given out to friends in December 2022. This here download is free to anyone, anywhere, anytime.
