I’d got into the habit of getting up early, walking into town and ending up in Leazes Park as the sun started to burn through the inevitable foggy mist.

I sat on the same bench each day, just near the bandstand, where I could watch the geese trot towards the lake but far enough away from the lonely fishing dudes so I could warble, huff and slobber in peace. Most of this record was made on that park bench.
